How judging works at a convention
A convention award is not an audience prize. Here is how it works.
Artists judge, not the public
The jury is made up of experienced tattoo artists. They assess composition, technique and originality.
Fresh and healed work
Some categories judge fresh tattoos done at the convention itself, others judge healed ones — they show how a piece looks over time.
Categories by style and size
Work is compared with similar work: colour realism, portrait, large colour piece. An award in a category shows the artist is strong in their particular style.
